Owning With Karthus, Step 2

Step 1 –> Karthus, 3 Steps to Going Godlike with 900+ AP
After you have runed and masteried out Karthus, your next step is to start building your new unstoppable death machine.
As you probably already know, Karthus’s signature skill is his q spell. It deals high aoe damage and is spammable. We will use this to quickly stack up a tear of the goddess.

Start off at level one with a Sapphire Crystal and two health potions. Level up your q to level one and run to mid. Your goal here is to save up enough gold for a tear of the goddess and level one boots of speed. Once you do, go back to fountain and buy. You should be able to easily grab both by level 5.

After buying, head back to your lane and last hit to get a soul stealer. In a good game my record for attaining these 3 items is 10 min. This is the backbone of your build. Any delay in getting these items will severely hamper your late game effectiveness.

Now it is time to start your killing. Head to the side lanes as discretely as possible. A good way to do this is to push your creeps into the enemy tower then running back in you lane. The enemy will see you run into the fog of war towards your base and most likely assume that you are porting back. Once you are in the fog, run into the jungle and travel to a side lane. Try to hit them unexpectedly and score a stack or two on your soulstealer.

An effective combo is to place a wall of pain right on their head, turn on defile and plant lay waste under their feet as you run next to them. You can simply ulti them if they manage to get away.
The next item in your build are sorcerer boots. These bad boys are a cheap way to increase your damage by up twenty percent or so. If you are having trouble staying alive, then follow it up with a catalyst built into a banshee vail. If not, finish off the tear of the goddess into an Archangel’s Staff.
